Introduction
Campus Health and Rights Initiative (CHRI) is an organization that is based in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. The organization, CHRI, is made up of a group of trained Peer Health Educators. This group of PHEs is coordinated by a team of executive members who are elected to serve for a period of one academic session
Our objectives include :
- To assess the prevalence and patterns of reproductive rights violation and reproductive health and their determinants among young adults in Obafemi Awolowo University.
- To increase awareness of policy makers and other stakeholders about youth reproductive health issues and reproductive right violation in Obafemi Awolowo University.
- To increase HIV/STI and pregnancy risk reducing behaviors among young adults (undergraduate students). These include abstinence (in the forms of primary and secondary virginity), sexual partner reduction and the use of modern contraceptive methods.
- To increase the access of young people to quality reproductive health, clinical and counseling services in the project site.
- To evaluate the effectiveness of specific audience driven interventions in the areas of the youth reproductive health and rights with the aim of wide dissemination of results for possible replications by other stakeholders.
- To regularly produce and publish original research findings on issues affecting young people’s reproductive health and rights.
